We all know how life throws its ups and downs at you, and for a while now my writing has definitely been on a downward trajectory. Work and a hyperactive 4yo haven't left much creative calories to work with. Add to that the crumbling world of social media and the proliferation of AI books has made everything so much harder as an indie author.

However, out of nowhere my writing life got a serious shot in the arm when my book Cold Blooded made it into the semifinals of the Self Published Science Fiction Competition for 2026.

Suddenly sales were on the up, reviews were coming in thick and fast, and the ideas for finishing out the Cold Rush series came flooding back.

In Other News

While much of the world has been far to hot, Ireland for once has had a pretty nice summer. I'm sure it won't last but I'm enjoying it while it's here. My BBQ has never seen so much use. 😂
